we got 14 inches of snow. the governer declared a state of emergency. all stores closed. all highways were closed. people are spending christmas eve in shelters as their cars are being pulled from ditches. people are just abandoning their cars in the middle of the road. we have a huge 3 to 4 foot snow drift outside our backdoor. i knew it was supposed to snow, but wow. not convenient... but it sure is lovely to look at.
so alas, we are stuck inside. but thank jesus we have electricity! i made some cheese dip for aj & the boys (aj's cousin & friend that are staying with us for the holiday) and decided aj & i should open up our gifts from each other. he bought me a book, p.s. i love you by cecelia ahern. i am in love with the movie, and had been wanting to read the book for some time now. he also bought me the movie elf. one of my favorites that i shockingly didn't own. we had a nice few minutes, then he was back to the video games.
i made me some delicious hot cocoa... grabbed my laptop, and here i am.
i hit random on my itunes playlist & started surfing the web... isn't she lovely by stevie wonder started playing. i have no clue why, but this song is so cheerie. i always want to break into song when i hear it. however i have a house full of people and i'm not so sure they would appreciate it.
anyhow, i am remembering happy times tonight. :) i am going to think of all the lovely things of past christmases. i hope everyone does the same. surround yourself with people you love & have a happy christmas. may all your hearts be filled with love. :) god bless.
